Why We Have an Editorial Policy

Learning English is a meaningful investment, and our learners deserve content that is accurate, reliable, and genuinely useful. Every blog post, word definition, grammar explanation, and exercise we publish at WordMaster is produced to a defined editorial standard.

This page explains how our content is created and how we keep it accurate over time.

Who Writes Our Content?

WordMaster content is produced and reviewed by three groups:

  • Founder & Chief Editor

    Hakan Sukru Dag — founder and chief editor with 15+ years of experience in education technology and software engineering, actively working with English learning platforms. LinkedIn

  • Qualified Teachers & Linguists

    Grammar structures, linguistic claims, and pedagogical approaches are developed together with qualified English teachers and linguists.

  • Native Speaker Editors

    Every English text, example sentence, and blog post is reviewed by a native speaker editor before publication — for naturalness, context, and current usage.

Fact-Checking Process

Every new piece of content passes through a four-step verification process before publication:

    Research

    Each topic is researched from academic sources, linguistic literature, and authoritative dictionaries (Oxford, Cambridge, Merriam-Webster).

  2. 2

    Drafting

    The editor drafts the piece, adding real-world examples, usage contexts, and pedagogical tips.

  3. 3

    Native Speaker Review

    English text is read by a native speaker and refined for naturalness, idiomatic usage, and contemporary accuracy.

  4. 4

    Final Check & Publication

    The chief editor performs a final review, verifies source accuracy, and publishes the content.

Our Source Policy

When we make scientific or linguistic claims, we ground them in verifiable sources:

Update Policy

New content: At least one new blog post is published every week.

Existing content: Published articles are reviewed every 6 months; changes in language use or factual status are reflected.

Corrections: If an error is identified, it is corrected within 48 hours and a transparent "correction note" is added to the post.

Date-stamped: The last updated date is clearly visible on every article.

Transparency About AI Usage

WordMaster, as an education-technology platform, uses AI tools — but we believe in transparency. Here is exactly how we use them:
